The protection and advancement of human rights along our value chain is one particular priority area. Group Sommet works hard to ensure that the highest labor standards are followed and protected in the factories.

KEY IS TO MONITOR EVERY STEP AND WORK CLOSELY WITH PARTNERS

To commit to improving continuously the working conditions of the people making our garments, we are working closely with the Fair Wear law. We also support our partners’ factories in their efforts to improve their corporate social responsibility.

Furthermore, we have in place a number of processes to ensure decent working conditions on a daily basis, including a strong Code of Conduct, a Sustainability Corporate Responsibility Policy, Suppliers Compliance Guidelines, a Restricted Substances List, monthly reports, and daily visits to our partner factories.

OFFICE EMPLOYEES AT Group Sommet engage directly with our business partners to develop positive relationships, analyze their performance against our Sustainability Commitment, and assist them in making changes through various programs and activities.

They have close contacts with not just our commercial partners, but also non-governmental organizations, experts, stakeholders, and local governments, which means they understand the challenges and how to achieve improvements in a local context. Once we’ve established a relationship with a supplier, we work with them to enhance their sustainability performance through training and by rewarding them with greater orders of items if they do well.

Group Sommet has made a commitment to continuing environmental development in both our own sourcing operations and our vendor collaboration. We work with eco-conscious suppliers and invest in environmental initiatives in-house, such as waste reduction, environmental certifications, chemical and water management, and renewable energy. Our compliance team is always analyzing and up-skilling our supplier chain on the most up-to-date compliance and ethical standards.

CODE OF CONDUCT

Ethical Out-Sourcing

Group Sommet has set of requirements to social compliance must be fulfilled by all vendors:

No Child labor is accepted. “Child” is defined as someone below the age of having completed compulsory education in the country of employment or below the age of 15 years.
No forced labor is accepted. “Forced Labor” is defined as prison labor, slavery; any person compelled to violence, intimidation or forced to work under penalty for non-performance.
No physical, sexual, psychological or verbal harassment and/or abuse or coercion shall be in place. Workers shall be treated with respect and dignity.
Vendors shall base the employment of the workers solely on their skills, irrelevant of race, caste, skin color, gender, religious belief, political opinion, physical disability, ethnic-, national- or social background, nationality, or sexual orientation.
The working hours, regular and overtime, shall not exceed legal limits and the workers shall not be required to work overtime more than legal limit in any case. The workers shall have the right to refuse to work overtime.
All wages and benefits must be paid, at a minimum, in compliance with applicable law. Any overtime must be compensated according to the national regulations.
The workers right to form and join unions and organizations of their choice and to bargain collectively, must be respected. Any disciplinary actions against any workers in joining peacefully and lawfully are forbidden.
Vendors shall maintain a clean, safe and healthy working environment in compliance with local laws and regulations. All workers must have proper access to fire escapes.
The vendor agrees not to enter any kind of bribery or corruption with any individual representing Triton Textile or any of its principals. Where gifts are presented in adherence to a country’s individual customs or etiquette, it shall be ensured that such gifts do not lead to obligatory dependencies.
As a minimum we work according to EU standards / laws. If a principal may have requirements exceeding the EU standards, such requirements will be followed accordingly.
